NOX Customs Brokers Inc. ("NOX", "we") respects your privacy and handles personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy covers the website noxcustoms.ca. Information we receive as your customs broker when we act for you is also covered by our client agreement and by the Customs Act.
What we collect
- Contact and quote requests: the name, company, email address, phone number, preferred language and message you enter in our form, together with the time and your IP address.
- Technical data: our web server records standard request information (IP address, page requested, browser, time) for security and to fix problems.
- Visit statistics: for each page you open, our own server records the page, the time, your IP address, browser, the site you came from and a random visitor number stored in your browser, so we can count visitors. This stays with us and is kept for 180 days.
- Your language choice is stored in your own browser so the site opens in the same language next time. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
How we use it
- To answer your request, prepare a quote and provide customs brokerage services you ask for.
- To run, secure and improve this website.
- To meet our legal obligations, including record keeping required of licensed customs brokers.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
The shipment status page shows a lookup run by our customs software provider; numbers entered there are handled by that provider. Otherwise we share personal information only with service providers that host our systems and send our email, under obligations to protect it, and with government authorities such as the Canada Border Services Agency when the law requires it or when needed to clear your goods.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept as long as needed to answer and follow up on them, and are deleted when you ask us to. Client records are kept for the periods the Customs Act requires.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to its use where the law allows. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
